  1. Wow! This is so true. Kids need a positive role model especially moms and daughters. Some women forget that their children look up to them and want to be just like mom. Children will imitate what they see whether it’s negative or positive and they can’t distinguish between the two. They will mimich what they see. Growing up I always knew my mom was there for me and she tried her best to raise me right. I couldn’t imagine growing up with a mom who was self-absorbed and selfish and didn’t take me into consideration when she was off doing her own thing. Women like this have no business procreating because the children suffer and the children don’t ask to be brought here. That decision is made by someone else. Kids need that bond with mom. They need to feel connected.
Sixty percent of 8-11 year olds and 56% of 12-15 year olds say they learn “a lot” from their mothers about issues like sex, alcohol, drugs and violence. Most youth turn to their mothers before their teachers and classes, fathers, the media, and friends (Nickelodeon and Talking With Kids,2001).
